february 2022

New beginnings remind us of the promising future awaiting expectant mothers and their babies. However, for those who are homeless or at risk of losing custody of their children, the outlook feels bleak.

We are reminded that “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.”

Mark 9:37 exemplifies what we do every day at Mater – welcome and care for expectant mothers, their babies, and in many cases, the older children who accompany them.

For those who have lost their faith through crisis or have no one to turn to, Mater is a safe haven that reminds them there is hope in the future through Jesus Christ.

These mothers receive critical prenatal care, restored optimism through faith, and an extended family who invests in their lives every day; they are lovingly led to a stable, healthy relationship with their children and equipped to thrive in the world once they depart the Mater house.

It is our gift to be a refuge for pregnant women, and we look forward to the blessings that will abound for the mothers and babies we are called to care for in 2022. Would you please pray for them?

You are impacting lives at Mater Filius, thank you for your faithful support!
